ABOUT TECHNEXT

A Festival for All

TechNext Festival’s ambition is to be a Good Festival with ‘for good’ being a core value that runs through the full events programme. As part of this, we are asking all partners involved in the festival to commit to supporting this ambition.

We ask all Festival fringe event hosts and partners to adopt our code of conduct and guidelines, and ask that you do your best to follow during the planning and delivery of your event.

The 3000+ attendees will encompass a wide range of interest parties, stakeholders and community groups. From launching the festival in January 2023 the ambition was set to make the festival programme truly accessible, considering those with different protected characteristics and how to meet their needs, with the aim to make the events as welcoming as possible. Attendees will include but not be limited to:

  • North East businesses
  • Academic institutions
  • National business looking to invest in the North East
  • Individuals looking to move into the North East tech sector
  • Public sector – local authorities and national government
  • Funders and support organisations
  • Interested members of the community
  • Young people interested in tech

All programmed events that are community designed and led will be free to attend and be based on a first come first served basis until capacity is met. There will be a ticket price for the following curated events: the Main Stage, Industry Dinner and the Festival Party. We have a limited number of free tickets on offer for the Main Stage and Party through our ballot.

TechNExt is underwritten by Dynamo North East CIC, which is co-organised by Sunderland Software City. The festival is a collaborative festival, working with partners across the North East and delivered by BeaconHouse Events.
