Heat Networks in Northumberland

Overview
Northumberland County Council have commissioned legal and commercial advisors to help us develop a procurement approach that seeks to use Local Authority heat loads (primarily leisure centres) as “anchor customers” to stimulate private sector investment in heat networks, where commercially viable, in up to 8 towns across the county.
Within the 90-minute session we will be covering the opportunities across the eight towns within the county, the work done to date to bring heat networks forward within Northumberland, and the approach Northumberland County Council are taking. We will also be hearing an update from the ongoing regional work and hopefully an update on heat network zoning that is coming through national government.
There will be time for a short workshop looking at the wider benefits and local opportunities within the delivery of heat network infrastructure and time for networking also.
