Through a series of compelling talks, we’ll explore the future of government, technology, and the digital workforce.
Highlights include:
Lord Ranger of Northwood, speaking on his own career, plus the things that are being discussed in the House of Lords, and the evolving relationship between Government & Tech.
Oliver Wright, UK Lead at Workday, offering insights into the Digital Workforce of the Future, and how the role tech will play to support humans in their work.
Plus hear from thought-leaders from our digital and tech partners sharing the latest trends and innovations shaping the next era of service delivery.
Expect candid conversations, fresh thinking, and future-focused insights.
Lunch will be provided, and our Scrumconnect leadership team will be available throughout the day for meaningful connections and discussion.
The event will be suitable for anyone interested in the world of digital technology, but especially leaders or those responsible for setting strategy and leading change.
Please arrive for 9:30am registration. Talks will start at 10am. Lunch will be served around 12:30pm and the event will close at 2pm.

Lord Ranger frequently shares his perspectives on the future of technology such as AI and new governance and regulatory models. He is a member of the House of Lords Science and Technology committee, is Co-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Digital Money and Digital Markets, and Vice-chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for AI.

How to get involved
Please read the information back below, and then fill out an expression of interest form. This will let us know you’d like to take part, what age the participating children are and whether you’d like any support from us or an ‘industry mentor.’
Plan your challenge, consider your resources and the participating students. Challenges can be completed in small or large groups. but please be aware that only 8-10 students from selected schools will be able to attend the celebration event.
Submit your challenge responses via our online form below. Your school can submit up to 10 entries. The deadline for responses is Friday 9 May, 2025. Please get in touch if you are struggling to meet the deadline.
The Schools Challenge steering committee will identify a small group of students from selected schools to be invited to a celebration event on the morning of Friday 20 June at South Shields Customs House.
If selected, you will be invited to attend by 23 May. There will also be an opportunity to display students‘ work as part of a number of public
exhibitions across local authority areas.
